The press conference after Game 2 of the match Shirov - Laznicka has just finished in Novy Bora, Czech Republic

Czech GM was white today, however, the players have "exchanged the colors" of their pieces. Shirov grabbed initiative which at some point  seemed even decisive. Latvian was right when saying that on move 36 much better would be playing 36...Qe7 than  36...Qd6 (which took place int he game). White could hardly find the defence.

The knight endgame turned out to be quite interesting - black pieces occupied the white squares comfortably.

LAZNICKA - SHIROV

It seems that white knight is trapped. But - "you played 59.е4 in time," - Alexei has said to his opponent. After 59...Kf7 60.e5 Nxe5 61.Ng5+ there's a logical draw.

Thus, the current score int he match is 1-1. The next game will take place tomorrow at 18.00 MSK Time.
