Sergei Rublevsky, the head coach of the Russian Women's National team, shared his impressions on the ongoing match Russia - China in the interview [in Russian] given to RCF website.

"Despite the fact that Chinese are playing with their strongest team, except the World Champion Hou Yifan (our Kosintseva sisters are also not playing) I don't think they are stronger than us at the moment ,- Rublevsky says. - God grant, tiredness won't show, but everything goes well. First two matches turned out to be completely equal. We were winning the first match one hour before the round finished, but as I've understood you can't fix the result in women's chess. In the second one we "smashed" them quite confidently. The Chinese actually aren't showing anything "super" yet. It's evident that their Zhao Xue is not in a good shape. Ju Wenjun plays good, but they're playing very stably and they can send any team to the Olympiad. At the same time, each of them is almost 20 ELO points ahead of our players."

"Chinese are as good punching bags, - the coach continues. - I call them so. It's good to practice on them. They almost don't have emotions, so you can't cheat on them offhand. They aren't afraid of anything, moreover, they even don't understand what fear is. Their style looks as a computer style: you can't swindle it, you have to calculate everything till the last move."

In Rublevsky's opinion, Chinese team will be Russian women's main rival at the Olympiad. "In the team competition only Chinese have the same kind of backbone as we have. I'm quite optimistic, so we will be fighting, we should just manage to reprove China."

The coach announced that Kosintseva sisters and Gunina have already booked places in the team. Other members of the team will be announced not later than July 10th.

The current score between the teams is 8.5 - 11.5 in guests' favor.
