Dragan Solak Won His Very First Turkish Championship

The Turkish Chess Championship for men was held in Kemer, Antalya. This year 309 participants (52 more compared to previous year) including four GMs took part in the competition. One of the Grandmasters won the Championship. Dragan Solak has recently completed his transfer from the Serbian Chess federation to the Turkish Chess federation and won Gold medal in his very first Turkish championship. 

The game of the decisive round between Dragan Solak and Ege Koksal attracted much attention

The champion scored 8.5 out of 10.

IM Mert Erdogdu finished second on the tie-break losing the champion half a point. (18-year-old IM Firat Burak won the bronze medal). 

The general sponsor Is Bank and the Turkish Chess Federation provided a prize fond of 12 thousand Euro.
