Although Fabio Caruana grabbed some initiative against Vassily Ivanchuk and even gave a try to the tempting rook sacrifice, at the end he he had to satisfy with the perpetual check.

CARUANA - IVANCHUK
French Defence
1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bg5 dxe4 5.Nxe4 Nbd7 6.Nf3 h6 7.Nxf6+ Nxf6 8.Bh4 c5 9.Bc4 cxd4 10.O-O Be7 11.Qe2 Nd7N 12.Bxe7 Qxe7 13.Rad1 O-O 14.Rxd4 Nf6 15.Rfd1 b6 16.Ne5 Qc7 17.h3 Bb7

18.Rd7 Qc8 19.Nxf7 Nxd7 20.Nxh6+ (perhaps, White won't have any advantage by 20.Qxe6 and 20.Nd6 as well) 20...Kh7

21.Qh5 (21.Nf7 Nf6!) 21...Nf6! (21...gxh6?? 22.Bd3+) 1/2-1/2. White should have played 22.Bd3+ Kh8 23.Nf7+ Kf8 24.Nh6+, and in case of  24...gxh6, то 25.Qg6+, they still have the perpetual check.

Topalov - Aronian encounter has also finished in a draw. The game turned out to be less exhiting, however, Aronian applied novelty already on the 7th move!
