Vitaly Valeriovich being in an excellent mood and we, young, eagerly listened to the interesting stories from his eventful life. Half of the time he talked about his favorite pupil Kramnik. This is how Vitaly Valerianovich talked about his very first impressions about this boy. "When I saw some of his, 12-year-old's, games, analysed them a bit, I was just delighted with him! I told his parents - what kind of Candidate Master he is? He understands chess just like me. I see a Grandmaster in him!"
