During the live broadcast on the eight round of the Sinquefield Cup, Garry Kasparov appeared. Among other things, he was asked about his favourite chess composers and the only name the ex-world champion mentioned was Oleg Pervakov.

"Recently, I've been spending some time looking at chess studies, and I should say that I have always loved the work of Oleg Pervakov. His studies are just phenomenal. Of course, there are many other good composers, who produce complicated and challenging studies. Solving them is good training for any chessplayer. Personally, I often solve studies during my flights, to keep my brain busy".

Oleg Pervakov is a well-known study composer, twice world champion at chess composition and also many years executive secretary and editor of the magazine "64". Quite recently, Oleg's name was mentioned when Magnus Carlsen named his favourite composers. And then Pavel Eljanov gave his personal ranking of composers, in which Pervakov also occupied first place.
