The U.S. Championships have been announced to take place in the location already well-known in the chess world - Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. The playing days will be April 1st - April 13th, 2015.

The previous editions of the men's event used to bring together the best chess players of the country, but this time the field will be exceptionally strong, as it will be joined by Hikaru Nakamura, who has missed the national championships in 2013 and 2014, and the newly-fledged American Wesley So. Both are currently within the world top 10, fighting for the top position in the American rating list: while So is higher in the official list, Nakamura has surpassed him in the live ratings as a result of his big success in Gibraltar Masters which has finished just yesterday.

The championship will be a round-robin of 11 rounds with the following participants: Gata Kamsky (the reigning U.S. champion), Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So, Ray Robson, Alexander Onischuk, Daniel Naroditsky, Samuel Shankland, Varuzhan Akobian, Timur Gareev, Kayden Troff, Conrad Holt, Samuel Sevian.

The women's championship will be held at the same location simultaneously with the men's event. The field consists of 12 players and, apart from the defending champion Irina Krush, features WGMs Anna Zatonskih, Nazí Paikidze, and Tatev Abrahamian.

The prize funds are $175.000 and $75.000 for men's and women's championships respectively.
