Ukrainian Chess Federation congress took place in Kiev in order to elect the UCF President. As a result, Viktor Kapustin was re-elected. He has been UCF President since 2010.

Many Ukrainian players see positive changes happening in Ukrainian chess after Kapustin joined the Federation. For example, top Ukrainian players participate in the national championships on a regular basis; even Vassily Ivanchuk took part this year.

Viktor Kapustin has been interviewed by our website this July (the text is available in Russian), when two big issues were on the agenda – chess tournaments in Crimea and Kateryna Lagno’s transfer to Russia. The UCF leader has clearly shown the frontier he can’t give up.
