Levon Aronian has held the press conference in Yerevan. Among other questions asked by the journalists, Aronian had to discuss the participation of Armenian sportsmen in the 2015 European Games which will be held in Baku.

"It's up to each sportsman to decide if he/she should participate in European Games in Baku or not”, the Armenian GM said according to sport.news.am.
"...In the past, I had always been against any participation in tournaments held in Azerbaijan, but I've changed my mind over time. I don’t know for sure yet whether I am going to take part but I will no longer say I won't participate. Perhaps there’s some Christian message in all that – when you come with peace against the war and try to succeed. Armenia hasn’t given its final reply. It's a very difficult matter”.

It is still unclear what competition Aronian is talking about, as there’s no chess tournament in European games. However, the next year Baku will host the World Cup, in which Aronian had agreed to participate. It is still unclear whether the Armenian national team is going to attend the Chess Olympiad in the capital of Azerbaijan in 2016.

Today the Armenian chess leader also gave a simul which is part of the annual event “Sports for equal opportunities”. The participants of the simul were Yerevan schoolchildren with disabilities.
