Moscow Open 2015: Schedule and Prizes Announced

The 11th Moscow Open (RSSU Cup) will take place in the capital of Russia from January 29th to February 9th, 2015. According to the official website, it will consist of 8 competitions as last year: two main 9-round Swiss tournaments (open and women's), the amateur tournament (under 2300), the veterans' tournament, two closed GM round-robin events for students, the School Champions' Cup, and the World Chess Composition Cup.

The prize fund for the main open is announced to be 1.500.000 Russian rubles which is currently equal to ~35.000 USD or ~28.000 euro; note that the 30% tax will be deducted from prizes won by the foreign players, in accordance with the Russian legislation.

The festival schedule also includes training courses for chess coaches, arbiters and organizers held under the auspices of the Russian Chess Federation and FIDE. The courses will be in Russian but the organizers are going to provide the English translation.
