Vachier-Lagrave, Giri, Woijtaszek, Harikrishna, Motylev and Hou Yifan to Play In Biel In Memoriam of Hans Suri

The Grandmaster Tournament of the annual festival in Swiss Biel will be held in memoriam of the earlier organizer of this great forum Hans Suri.

Suri has passed away on June 14 last year aged 85. He has been organizing the event for three decades in a row (1968-1997), during this period three interzonal tournaments have been held in the city! 

This will be a double round-robin competition (category 19). Participants: Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Anish Giri (the Netherlands), Radoslaw Woijtaszek (Poland), Pentala Harikrishna (India), the European champion Alexander Motylev (Russia) and the Women's World champion Hou Yifan (China).

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on July 12, it finishes on July 25. the Six Grandmasters' tournament will be held from July 14-24 with a free day on July 20. As usually the prestigious tournament is not the only event to be held - there also are planned number of other exciting events including a strong Open.
