Two more games of Roud 1 at Candidates' were drawn. Topalov drew Mamedyarov, while Svidler signed a peace treaty with Karjakin.

However, some considered the draw to be preliminary decision in the duel of Russian GMs. Black (Svidler) could strike with 25...fxe4  instead of 25...Bd5 in the final position. According to Svidler, in 23...fxe4 24.bxc4 line he calculated 24...bxc4 after which black can't stand better, but on the contrary it stands worse. Karjakin noted 24...Rxc4! was even stronger, ultimately, his opponent agreed.

As Svidler concluded the draw in today's game wasn't bad as he didn't consider his position better at any moment during the game.
