Alpari Is Still Sure Karjakin will Get Chess Crown Back to Russia (PHOTO)

As we reported earlier Alpari company has once again resigned one year contract with Sergey Karjakin. Official signing ceremony took place in the company head office.

"We’ve signed a sponsor contract with Sergey a year ago and have carefully watched his successes and Russian chess society progress, said Sergey Vyazmin, member of the Board of Directors, Sergey made a brilliant year and once again proved that he is indeed eager to become the best player in the World. The fact that we decided to carry on our work together shows that Sergey did really well while we are sure that he is capable of getting the chess crown back home, to Russia".

  • Kirill Zangalis has accepted the offer got from the Russian Chess Federation ruling body - from now on he will be not only GM Sergey Karjakin's manager but the PR manager of RCF.

  • In 2013 Zurich is going to hold one more top level chess competition. The organizer shall once again be Oleg Skvortsov, the one who sponsored Kramnik-Aronian match, which was quite a success in april this year. Next event to go is a match like the one before or a tournament between four top level grandmasters. Exact details and time will be announced later.

  • An unusual simul will be held in the Academy of Spartak tomorrow. The guest Sergey Karjakin will play against 10 footballers of Spartak: four young players, Sergei Mikhailov the member of the board of directors of Lukoil and Spartak, and five legendary footballers of the "people's team": Sergei Parshivlyuk, Sergei Rodionov, Yuri Gavrilov, Sergey Shavlo, Andrei Piatnitski. The names of these players are well known for every fan.

  • Several days before the Candiates' start GM Karjakin gave an interview to Kirill Znagalis for the company Alpari. 

    GM told about his way to chess, about his attitude towards the reigning world champion, his opponents in the tournament and of his level of preparation. 

  • Sergey Karjakin gave an interview to Ukrainian newspaper Sport-Week while playing at the rapid event organized by Sberbank Russia in Kiev. According to Karjakin his coaches continued working on classical chess while he was playing in Ukraine.

  • "I have always considered the personal encounter to be the only fair indicator in round-robin competitions. If Grandmasters drew against each other - the tie-break should be organized, but when, let's say, we finished the game in a draw and someone is named the winner according to Berger or any other quite subjective indicator - that looks like a work of a devil," - Sergey Karjakin wrote in his blog on the website.

  • Karjakin gave a short commentary on the upcoming World title match. After Carlsen decided not to rush on the match decision (Magnus hasn't yet signed the contract, he plans to do it only after the Sinquefield cup he's participating in will finish) there's a theoretical possibility that he will be replaced. If so Sergey would be the one taking his place as he finished second at the Candidates. Let us remind you, Carlsen asked FIDE to postpone the match, his request was declined by the FIDE president.
