Another legendary world champion Maia Chiburdanidze also attended the ceremony.

The academy was founded back in 2006, however, it stopped all activities due to financial difficulties. This year the Prime-Minister of Georgia and the richest Georgian Bidzina Ivanishvii deposited a considerable sum for its restoration. On this occasion, the event was attended by David Saganelidze, one of the leaders of the ruling party "Georgian Dream".
