Evgeny Sveshnikov reacted on Ilya Levitov's recent interview which you can find here.

"After reading Levitov's interview I had an impression that he said all that as a private individual, because the official stand of Russian Chess Federation is completely different, namely RCF has supported Ilyumzhinov's candidature at the Presidential elections against Anatoly Karpov's candidature. Exaclty RCF has held the World Championship match together with FIDE in Moscow, it has also held the Candidates in Kazan as well as the World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Maybe Ilya forgot that he is a FIDE Vice President and he has an opportunity to influence on their plans, decisions and ideas?

If he doesn't consider FIDE as an existing organisation and expresses disagreement to its policy then he, as an honest-minded person, should immediately quit his post of a Vice President giving it some other people who will manage to negotiate with FIDE and decently represent Russian chess.

[...]

Ilya open your eyes and turn on your mind! You are the main chess official in Russia! Start solving the problems of Russian chess which is your job. First count how many clubs were closed in Russia during the last twenty years and how many were opened. You will discover how many members do we have in RCF. You will understand why in Russia chess becomes less and less prestigious each year.

I reacted on this interview not only, or rather not just because Levitov declared war against me, but because unlike Garry Kasparov I do not want FIDE to collapse. Despite its ruling body it's still ours. FIDE governing body should be criticized, but it also should be recognized that such an organisation exists. As well as the fact that a lot of brilliant competitions were held and are still taking place under Ilyumzhinov's leadership."
