Sergey Karjakin on his winning game against Alexander Morozevich

Two Russians were brought to the sword in Round 7 of the Grand Prix Tashkent: the younger GM Karjakin defeated Morozevich with White. Karjakin shared his impressions on the game with our website after the game was over.

"Frankly speaking the position was equal during the entire game. I didn't get an advantage in the opening, so I decided to concentrate on the middlegame. I was standing a bit better in the rook endgame, but if my opponent has played accurately, we would probably draw; however, Alexander blundered a rook sacrifice

KARJAKIN - MOROZEVICH

I saw 53.Rс6! immediately after Morozevich played 52...Rс7+.  I understood that he blundered. Then it was easy to win."
