Аlexander Morozevich grabbed a solo lead at the Grand Prix Tashkent after defeating Leinier Dominguez in the only decisive game of Round 6.

MOROZEVICH - DOMINGUEZ

The position occured from the Grunfeld defence with 7.Qa4+. Let professionals go deeper into analysis of the opening part of the game, we will just note that after 16...Rxe4 Black could have a comfortable play. It's hard to guess why Cuban player refused to play so. For instance, 17.Bd3 Re8 (interesting was 17...Rxh4 18.Nxh4 b5 - with a probably enough compensation) 18.Rfe1 Rxe1+ 19.Rxe1 Qc6 20.Bg3 Ra8. Or 17.Bg3 (less accurate) 17...Ne5 18.Bxe5 Bxe5 19.Bd3 Rf4 20.Nxe5 Qxe5 21.Rfe1 Qc7 with also a comfortable play.

Dominguez played 16...Bh6? and got a worse position immediately after  17.Bc4! Rxe4 18.Bg318...Qb6 made the position hopeless, while Black could maintain some chances if playing 18...Rf4! Then one of the ideas of White 19.h4! - with a wish of putting the knight on g5 and then winning the rook after Qc1 - Black had 19...Nf6! 20.Ng5 Bxg5 21.hxg5 Nh5, with some compensation for the material. Anyways, this is definitely not Black's usual dream in Grunfeld.

Everything that happened later needs no commentary, it's enough just to watch the developments in the viewer. Take a look at other games too.
