Ju Wenjun and Harika leave Khanty-Mansiysk (PHOTOS)

There was a tradition in the previous women's knockout championships: the semifinalists who have lost were asked to stay till the end of the competition in order to be present at the closing ceremony. The Women's World Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk didn't continue the tradition: soon after the tie-break between Anna Ushenina and Ju Wenjun was over, the "smaller" ceremony was held; the Mayor Vassily Filipenko awarded Harika Dronavalli and Ju Wenjun with Bronze medals.

The second owner of the bronze medal was determined on a tie-break today. Ukrainian beat Chinese in the 1st rapid game, in the 2nd one Ju Wenjun gradually got a winning endgame...

JU WENJUN - USHENINA

Here White already lost a chance of winning. Chinese made all the wrong moves helping her rival: she placed her pawn on e7 and hid her king on h-line. Her coach Je Jiangchuan only shook his head, but did it with a traditional Chinese steadiness. Ju Wenjun tried to accept the situation for 60 moves, while her opponent only moved her rook on white squares. Je Jiangchuan left the hall before the result was registered.
