Natalia Zhukova won the return game to continue fight on a tie-break

The return games of the Women's World Championship brought new moments full of joy and disappointment for the participants. Monika Socko, Lela Javakhishvili, Mariya Muzychuk and Natalia Pogonina eliminated from the competition. Anna Ushenina, Antoaneta Stefanova, Zhao Xue and Harika Dronavalli are already preparing for the 1/4 final. Kosintseva sisters, Huang Qian - Krush, Ju Wenjun - Zhukova will play tie-breaks tomorrow.

The encounter between Ukrainian and Chinese turned out to be the tensest one. Zhukova needed only a win. Natalia missed the real chance several times during the game, but finally still got a winning endgame.

However, after white pawn became the queen it turned out the position wasn't that easy to win: Ju Wenjun built kind of a fortress.

Still, this is probably not a fortress - White has resources to win. Zhukova looked for the way to get Black king for 37 moves and eventually she found it.

Watch this and other return games.
