The World Champion has been defeated in Khanty-Mansiysk

Monika Socko, the Polish player became the main hero of today's round of the Women's World Championship.

Editor-in-chief of Chess-News asked her what she was thinking after yesterday's loss with White against Hou Yifan, here's what Socko replied: "I was very disappointed, because I got a comfortable position, but I managed to loss it quickly. I thought it was over, it's not an easy thing to beat her with Black. On the other hand, I started to think that I had to play something new against her, that the tournament is not over yet. This is my 6th World Championship, so I don't worry as much as I used to."

Later the player added she started to think on changing the ticket for her flight booked on the day after tomorrow. "I could need to fly back home already tomorrow!"

Now Socko will need to change her flight only in one case: if she will beat Hou Yifan tomorrow on tie-break.

As regards to the game, the champion seemed to feel out of it. "I guess she started to play on a draw, which is always hard to do," - Monika commented on her opponent's poor play. The Polish evaluated her position as better already on move 13.

"This is my first win against Hou Yifan, - Socko concluded. - I already lost against her twice this year, earlier there were two draws. I defeated her once, but in rapid chess."
